Reinvention!!! A New Born Vampire is Lurking in the Palace

After an exhilarating weekend attending the Pride Festival, and the addition of a new member to our live touring band, we are overjoyed and overly excited to start the Goth musical revolution! Please welcome Dr. Brock Landers into the Mercurial Rage Army, as he is the healthiest addition to our project since we purchased our Apple laptops. He is a longtime friend and staunch supporter of our musical sounds and lyrical prose. His musicianship speaks for itself, but his sexuality is extremely ambiguous. Watch out ladies and gentlemen, this stud is single and ready for you to join him within the walls of the ‘True Goth’ Palace.

Sounds of Reflection

Although our existence may appear to be gloom, our musical sounds are more reflective then destructive. Our overall message will be clear as day. That message is to place a positive spin on the lives of those who fully embrace the ‘true Goth’ mentality. We are not alone, in fact there are a number of people living traditional lives who will always and forever be Goth. Richard Nixon was paranoid, but Smithy, Ian Curtis, Martin Gore, Peter Murphy and a list that could continue for at least 100 pages are and always will be Goth. We also do not want to suggest that our musical adventure comes from the CBS after school special blueprint. We are not here to repair or take away the Gothic nature of your soul. In fact we expect you to embrace the unique gift from God that has brought you to our niche. We challenge you to attend our show, and when you leave I promise the only thing you will be yearning is a longer set list.

Curious Live

Our musical revolution will lift off in T-Minus 11 Days in the depths of the Dinkytowner Tavern. We ask you to pull out your Ipod, put on The Cure’s Pornography and prepare your mind, body and soul for the resurrection of true Goth. Do not come to our show with the intention of seeing a King Diamond or Marilyn Manson motif. Rather you should put on your white denim and your skinny tie, and dance to the sweet sounds of our musical trilogy. We will post the juicy details as the arise.

By the way we are a musical combo.

In case anybody was wondering Mercurial Rage is a musical group, and we are much more than that. We are a collective of souls organized for the sole purpose of heightening mans awareness of his enivitable godhood; and we're fun to dance with. We are the champions of the young, the tortured, the creative spirits that gloomily cast aspersions on the fallacies of the common human animal. We sing to the core of depression wherein a flicker of joy resides, and is nurtured by thoughts of the supernatural. If this sounds like a load of pretentious clap-trap it's because it is. We are no strangers to pop art, pop culture, and pop music existing just for the simple fun of it; and while we have grown up over the years and aren't quite as goth as we used to be, we do still sleep in coffins.

Unleash The Beast

Although you may be questioning the ‘Dark Lord’ essence of our existence; please refrain from making any severe judgments. Remember it was the summer of 1997 when Morrissey sang ‘Satan Rejected My Soul’ not Korn or any of those other rap metal hybrids. We are not scared to relate with asexuality and or androgyny within the confines of our music. Pop culture needs a wake up call, and we are waiting impatiently on line one. Put on your dancing shoes and your ‘black lace bra’ because something mercurial is watching your every move.

The Innocence of Goth

We believe in enjoying the darkside. We believe in vampires, zombies, and other fun monsters. We believe in pagan music and devil rock, and we think goth chicks are hot.
These days the poor gothic kid is misunderstood and maligned. It's not goths who are going crazy and shooting up schools, the lines of distinction have been blurred. The school shooters are METAL kids. It's a new form of metal, but it's metal all the same, you can smell the testosterone. A goth kid could never shoot anyone, he'd be too sad. Nobody who listens to the Smiths could ever hurt anybody. (If you don't count suicide)
I wish we could go back to the days of innocence when a goth kid listened to Bauhaus to feel superior, and later would curl up in his bed with a well worn copy of Sylvia Plath and dreamily count the days to Ian Curtis' death anniversary so he could go to school wearing even more black than usual. Ahh sigh.

The Future Is In Our Hands

Our entry into the world will coincide with strange natural forces within the earth and the cosmos resulting in a mass hysteria worldwide, a sort of group insanity that will culminate in the destruction of civilization as we know it. Mercurial Rage will be the soundtrack to the apocalypse, and later in the aftermath it will be Mercurial Rage who inspire and foment the rebirth into a stronger, more spiritually balanced society of humans that will be destined to rule the galaxy as evil warlords until the end of time.
